Dell partners with Ingram Micro for distribution of commercial laptops & desktops

Bangalore, India, January 14, 2014: Dell, leading end-to-end solutions provider today announced its partnership with Ingram Micro, a wholesale technology distributor for the distribution of Dell’s end-user Computing commercial products. This is first-of-its-kind engagement for Dell to boost distribution of its commercial s desktop and notebook enabling Dell’s end-customers to have immediate access to Dell’s products without any wait period. The partnership is planned on a national distribution framework to touch a wider Customer & Partner base in the Indian market.

Dell-Ingram partnership targets larger business opportunities for both the entities and at the same time also giving benefits to its end-customers and partners. Under this deal both the companies will work in partnership on overall go-to market activities, marketing & sales of these products.

MD Ingram Micro India Jaishankar Krishnan said, “We are pleased to have started the distribution of Dell Commercial Client PC range viz Vostro, Optiplex and Lattitude. This tie up opens up new opportunity for our partners, at the same time brings a large nation-wide partner base to Dell, to promote its products in the commercial segment. This relationship is important for Ingram Micro as it completes the Commercial PC portfolio in the ever growing SMB market.”

This move by Dell India further re-iterates the point of Dell being a steady and a long term partner for their channel community. The partnership will greatly help Dell’s channel partners to be more strongly connected with Ingram which is the strongest IT distributor in the nation

Kaul, further added, This partnership allows our partners to meet the demand from the customer who need the latest & world class products without any wait period and will result in extended coverage across Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities.

Dell’s Global Commercial Channel (GCC) division retains close to 2000 Channel relationship in the Indian market and is responsible for designing programs and policies relevant to partner community which cater to business entities like public companies and large-/medium-sized companies. Dell believes that this agreement will further strengthen the reach of its end-user commercial solutions overall in the Indian market.
